From The President: It was
wonderful to see so many Airedales together in Hutto on September 12th. Several people
commented that they had never seen so many at one time, especially in Texas. All day, we
repeatedly learned how versatile our Airedales were. We learned from Forbes Gordon's
discussion of all the jobs an Airedale can do, Michael DeLee's explanation of how a dog
follows a scent, Caroline Westerman's incredibly well-trained obedience dogs, and Anne
Reese's riveting demonstration of how to introduce a puppy to agility equipment without
scaring it. then we had a chance to do it ourselves, with obedience run-throughs and a
conformation match. Pictured above, Sybil Kevy of Barbate Airedales, judged the
conformation match which also included the "Best" Class, the
"Unclass," the Parade of Rescue Dogs and the Parade of Champions. It certainly
was a day with something for everyone and something for every dog.
Thanks to all who came with or without
their dogs to watch what Airedales can do. As Forbes Gordon said, "They truly can be
whatever we want them to be." |
